Slide retainer-PSL

Slide Retainer PSL\PSM is a DME model where the PSL is in British and the PSM is in metric.
Whether metric or imperial, they are available in three sizes, each corresponding to a different slider load.  PSL\PSM 001, 002, 003 are for 10kgf, 20kgf and 40kgf loads respectively. Please choose according to your slider weight.

MRT just like  PSL\PSM,But the “F” has a shorter distance and is more precise after locking.
They are available in three sizes,too. Each corresponding to a different slider load.MRT10M,MRT20M,MRT30M are for 10kgf, 20kgf and 40kgf  loads respectively. Please choose according to your slider weight.

This  Slide retainer are similar  to STRACK’s Z5130,Meusburger’s E3046,HASCO’s Z1895.
They are small in shape, small in space, easy to install, high in machining accuracy and more accurate in positioning
Z5130 has a stiff-steel Easter position for greater wear resistance.
Z5130 comes in three different specifications and is suitable for loads ranging from 3.4kgf to 9.2kgf.

This Slide Retainer  similar  to STRACK’s Z5140, Meusburger’s E3048,Three sizes, suitable for different holding weight.

Z51340 is small in shape, small in space, easy to install, high in machining accuracy and more accurate in positioning

They has a similar structure to the PSL and MRT, but is simpler than them.

This Slide Retainer  similar to MISUMI’s SLLK. Compared with Z5130,  they are similar in structure, but this type has a higher load due to its strong spring.

The function of the mold slider: It can slide perpendicular to the direction of mold opening and closing or at a certain angle with the direction of mold opening and closing. The slider is a mold component that can slide perpendicular to the mold opening and closing direction or at a certain angle with the mold opening and closing direction during the mold opening action. When the product structure cannot be ejected directly, it is necessary to use a slider to slide sideways to move the position, so that the product can be ejected vertically. The slider must move a certain distance during the mold opening process, and then it must be able to safely return to the original position; but the side core slider often does not move accurately on a fixed stroke, and may exceed the stroke range or run insufficiently within the stroke. And these situations will lead to:

  1. Plastic parts cannot be ejected
  2. The slider collides with the inclined guide column when the mold is closed
  3. The slider collides with the thimble, etc.

In order to avoid misalignment or collision between mold parts, we need to install a positioning device for the slider, and the positioning device must be flexible and reliable to ensure that the slider is accurately positioned on the stroke distance and the mold is opened and closed smoothly. Slide retainer can provide high-precision positioning of the slider and side core pulling, and complete the opening and closing of the mold safely and reliably, avoiding the misalignment of the slider and the mold and causing the mold to hit.

There are many specifications  on the market, so how to choose the style and specifications of them? Generally speaking, we have to choose reasonably according to the customer’s standard requirements, row space, and slider weight. Our Slide Retainer are marked with the maximum weight they can bear. Exceeding the weight can easily cause the Slide Retainer to fail and make the slider unable to Smooth reset, severe cases may crush the inclined guide post or damage the mold core.  It will take up the internal space of the mold that is not large. Generally speaking, it is safer to choose a load bearing of the Slide Retainer that is twice the weight of the slider itself. On the sky side (the mold is placed on the injection molding machine, the side facing up is called the sky side, and the side facing down is called the ground side), Slide Retainer try not to use the push type (similar to  Z5130,  Z5140,  PSR,  SLK, etc.), and It is safer to choose a caliper type (such as  PSM,  MRT,  Z189, etc.). The push type is recommended for use on the left and right sides. As for the ground side, it can be directly blocked with hexagon socket screws, without using Slide Retainer.

DME’s PSM (PSL) is divided into metric and imperial specifications. The specific selection depends on customer requirements. They have 3 specifications respectively, and the suitable load-bearing capacity is 10kg, 20kg, and 40kg. Generally, customers in the Americas often choose it.

SLK series is MISUMI’s standard . Generally, there are more choices for molds exported to Japan or parts of Southeast Asia.

Most European customers of the STRACK series  choose it, and some European customers specify CUMSA’s RC, PSR, RM and other models.

Note: When using press-type  similar to Z5130, Z5140, PSR, SLK, when processing the fixed groove on the template, it must be made into a V shape. If it is made into a semi-circular shape, it is easy to damage the Slide Retainer.

Slide Retainer chooses different materials according to different specifications. Among them, PSL/PSM and MRT series products are produced by casting. Their material is alloy steel of 8620, and the hardness can reach HRC58-62. Slide Retainer of other specifications is Only SKD61 (1.2343) material is used for production, but we will use SKD11, which is harder and more wear-resistant, for some key parts. As for products such as RC and RCM, due to the need for a certain degree of toughness and elasticity, we use spring steel 1.8159 with better toughness and elasticity to make them.

11.What are the features of PSR?

The PSR is a compact design product from CUMSA that is compact and easy to install. According to different sizes, it is divided into 3 specifications, namely PSR1000,PSR2000,PSR4000, which respectively represent 4.5kg, 9kg, 18kg load.

12.What are the features of the Z5130?

The Z5130  is a STRACK specification. They are compact and takes up little space, making it the easiest product to install. The Z5130 is more sophisticated and accurate in positioning. 13.What are the features of the SLLK?

The SLLK is a MISUMI product. They are similar to the Z5130, however, due to the use of high strength springs, the Slide Retainer has a high load ranging from 28kg to 110kg. Suitable for heavy Slides.

14.What are the features of RRM?

The RRM  is simple and easy to install, but they are greatest feature is that it can be used in a stack. The load of each Slide Retainer is 7.5kg, but due to the lamellar design, multiple Slide Retainers can be stacked on top of each other to increase the load when larger loads are required. We recommend up to 4 tablets stacked together to achieve a load of 30kg.
